KB #240097: Silent Registration Fails the first time on Windows 7 x64

Type:

Known Issues
Summary:
Result is that Encryptionizer 64-bit APIs fail

Additional Information:
This affects only developers who are including Encryptionizer in their installation packages and using the “silent registration” option:

  REG2.EXE /Q=

This has been observed only on Windows 7 x64 and only for native x64 installers and native x64 applications. Registration appears to run successfully, however, when your x64 install package or x64-application attempts to use Encryptionizer APIs they will fail. This may also result in an App Crash of your install package or application.

Work Around

Run REG2.EXE /Q= twice in your install package.
